As already mentioned above, this section represents another unique point belonging to the OMODEO SALE’ ARCHIVE.
Pigi began to make fashion reportage of every-day people in 1970: from London to Paris, from New York to Milan; but also Amsterdam, Germany, Scandinavian countries, etc.
During those trips a new idea came out: that of reporting and trading with pictures of what the best shoe shops showed in their windows.
These reports aimed at allowing all people looking for new ideas and inspiration to find them on their own desks, well-filed and easily read.
The seasonal reports were archived according to different cities, and every picture showed a single shoe, so as to obtain an exhaustive view of fashion, from avant-garde to classic, to casual and sporty style.
In 1979 reports were enriched by about 600 pictures each season, taken in London, Paris, Dusseldorf, Milan, Florence, New York, Amsterdam, Berlin and Antwerp.
Year after year, in the early ‘80s, pictures doubled, reaching a number close to 2,000 images each season, supported by a Summer upgrade (Cote d’Azur, Riviera Ligure and Milan) and a Winter upgrade (Berlin, Milan and Barcelona).
As a result of new shooting and printing technological developments, in 1998 they created WINDOWS SHOES, a six-monthly book/collector with upgrades: 1500 pictures each season, advances and surveys concerning new fashion trends, with a brand new style oriented to improve the quality of the reportage.
Now, after an adjustment period, this work has changed from an information magazine (for stylists and designers) to a historical document, really important for the world of shoes; it’s a huge report where you can compare all shoe designers and almost all models in windows; this allows you to understand easily the last 40 years of shoe fashion.
